Simply put - Kortman's is an institution. My family has been coming here since the 1950's. The food here is nothing fancy, but oh so good and comforting. Best breakfast IMHO in the entire world. Don't be put off by the décor or the locals giving you the eye when you arrive - it's all part of the charm. Great coffee, toast and egg dishes.

This restaurant is the best in northern Michigan! There is extremely quick service for breakfast; about 15 minutes! The food is some of the greatest I've had in a long time. The southern omelet is highly suggested. If it is your birthday, you receive a fresh cinnamon roll. It is relatively cheap, and the atmosphere is very fun and relaxed. It is a great place to enjoy great food.

I get up to Rogers's City about once a year and always have breakfast at Kortman's. The service is a little slow (hence the 4 stars). But, the food is just awesome. Eggs are fresh, meats are from local Plath's Market and are very tasty. My favorite is the Big Breakfast with hash browns. Roger's City is not really on the beaten path but I you ever get a chance to visit, have breakfast at Kortman's.

Kortmans is just north of the M68/M23 intersection, so please go past McDonalds and check out Kortman's. The burgers are great, the baked chicken is raved over, and the homemade pies are killer too. We're trying to branch out from McDonalds, and this place does great for that. The food is much better, and it's comparable in price now, since McDonalds keeps going up! A great cheeseburger loaded with toppings, fries, and a Pepsi will be about $9.50 which for a hand-smashed fresh beef burger is great. The chicken / roast beef / roast pork & dressing meals are only $8.95 on special! Roll by Kortman's, great small town place. Staff is friendly, restrooms are clean, everything was great. As the reviewer below said, the breakfasts are great, and the Plath's stuff is so good. (Local butcher shop)

I visit Rogers city couple times a year and always stop here.their prices are really good,I had the Reuben and frys it had to be the best one I have ever had.their breakfast omelettes are great kudos to the cooks.the inside is real nice and clean,waitress's are friendly and fast. Highly recommend to stop a and try it out.
